  • You will be able to enjoy your ceremony very close to the stone circle, but not actually inside the Temple area.
  • A personal, heartfelt Celtic Stonehenge ceremony.
  • Includes admission for the Bride and Groom.
  • Additional guests £18:00 per person. Children 5-15 years £9:30 each

OTHER STONE CIRCLES

Castlerigg (Lake District), Rollright (Oxfordshire), Avebury (Wiltshire) are all open access and wonderful places for a ceremony.

The ROLLRIGHT STONES

Weddings, Handfastings, Vow Renewals from £495

Seven miles from Stow-on-the-Wold in a north-easterly direction, on the road to Long Compton, and near the village of Little Rollright,
is a circle of standing stones, the most easterly in England.

The road that passes the site follows the line of an ancient trackway along a high ridge, the only way early people could move with relative ease.  Today we call it the Jurassic Way, just a country lane, but a very important route in prehistoric times.

They were built between 4000 and 4500 years ago by late Stone Age people.
Historically considered to have been a place to seal tribal agreements and to perform marriages.
The energy is so good at this circle - a location I always enjoy visiting at every opportunity.

AVEBURY CIRCLE

Wedding Celebrations .. Handfastings .. Vow Renewals from £495

BOOK EARLY any day of the week

Avebury lies in the heart of the Wiltshire Downs. Avebury stone circles are thought to have been constructed between 2500 to 2000 BC. Avebury rivals (and many would say exceeds) Stonehenge as the largest, most impressive and complex prehistoric site in Britain.

Avebury is a magical place, Michael and Mary, a pair of ley lines that run from Land's end to Bury St Edmunds, kiss near the stones in the southern part of the circle. The enormous sarsen at the north end of the village, called the Swindon Stone, crosses the road at midnight. The village is the source of intense spiritual energy. Faeries are, apparently, often seen among the stones at night.

CASTLERIGG STONE CIRCLE

Wedding Celebrations .. Handfastings .. Vow Renewals from £495

Castlerigg is perhaps the most atmospheric and dramatically sited of all British stone circles, with panoramic views and the mountains of Helvellyn and High Seat as a backdrop. It is spectacularly situated within a panorama of rugged hills of ever changing character.

Castlerigg is also among the earliest British circles, raised in about 3200 BC during the Neolithic period.

FREE admission. Easy access from the road.

SWINSIDE STONE CIRCLE

Wedding Celebrations .. Handfastings .. Vow Renewals from £495

This little-visited stone circle is one of the finest in Britain. It has 55 stones, up to 3 metres (10 feet) high.
Like Castlerigg, it dates from the Neolithic period and its entrance seems to line up with the midwinter sunset. Its other name, Sunkenkirk, comes from a legend that people tried to build a church here, but the Devil kept pulling it down.

The ceremony will be romantic, spiritual and entwined in love, celebrating the love between two people and preparing them for their future together. But the day is also a celebration of family and friends coming together to wish a couple well. Flowers, music & food - fun for all!

Chalice Well, Glastonbury, Somerset http://www.chalicewell.org.uk
The waters of this ancient spring bubbles up from under the Tor. The holy well is surrounded by beautiful gardens, a fabulous location to conduct a handfasting.

Wookey Hole Caves, Somerset http://www.wookey.co.uk/wookey-information/weddings
Perhaps expensive but it really is an amazing location. The caves are beautifully lit for your ceremony. Utterly stunning and magical.

Glastonbury Tribunal http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/visit/places/glastonbury-tribunal/
A late 15th century stone town house in Glastonbury High Street. The rear garden is a hidden gem! There are a couple of lovely trees and an old well which is fed by another of Glastonbury's sacred springs. The garden can be hired for handfastings
